Will Jowett is a young artist from Cardiff who completed his undergraduate studies at the Royal Northern College of Music. There, he studied with Matthew Best and Mark Wildman as a recipient of the Ian Scott Award for undergraduate studies. During his undergraduate degree he was a Serena Fenwick Young Artist with British Youth Opera. He now studies with Robert Dean at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama on the Master of Performance programme.
Will has performed across fields of song, concert and operatic repertoire, most recently being selected as a Young Artist for Waterperry Opera Festival’s 2026 season where he featured in their main-stage production of Puccini’s La Bohème and in their young artist gala performing scenes of Barber, Mozart and Donizetti. Other notable operatic engagements were as Blansac (La scala di seta) Sirocco (L’étoile) and Spencer Coyle (Owen Wingrave) with RNCM Opera, Tarquinius in The Rape of Lucretia with British Youth Opera, and covers for Guildhall Opera Studio’s productions of Der Wald, Lucrezia and Owen Wingrave.
Song engagements have included recitals with RNCM Songsters, a selected group of musicians with a talent and passion for song repertoire, workshops and performances with Leeds Song, and most recently working with Song in the City on their Creative Minds in Song initiative, where Will collaborated with poets from Lambeth and Tower Hamlets to premiere new songs based on experiences with mental health conditions.
Will loves to engage with contemporary music and has rich experience in premiering new works by emerging composers such as Devon Bonelli and Andrè Serra.
Will would like to thank the Ian Scott Award, Hywel Davies Trust and the Behrens Foundation for kindly supporting him throughout his studies.
