Biographies

Titika Maragoula was born in Piraeus, Greece. She received her diploma in Voice from the Hellenic Conservatory in Athens and her MM in Voice Performance from California State University Northridge, Los Angeles. Among her teachers were Juliana Gondek and Virginia Zeani Rossi-Lemeni.

From 2000 - 2010 Titika regularly performed a repertory from JS Bach to Ennio Morricone with the quintet “New Artists Ensemble”, based in Athens. Concert highlights include: Verdi’s Aida at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus (Athens Festival) with the Chorus of the National Lyric Opera of Athens (Loukas Karytinos, conductor), the festival of ‘Dimitria’ in Thessaloniki and the festival of the Tower of Duchess of Plakentia in Athens. Delibes’ Le Rossignol with the Sinfonietta of Athens (George Aravides, conductor) and a concert with the National Radio’s Third Program Children’s Choir (Rosy Mastrosava, chorus master and Savas Rakintzakis, piano), both at the Parnassos Literary Society Concert Hall in Athens. Evenings of Classical Music in Chania, Crete, Christmas Musicfest under the Byzantine Dome at St. Sophia Cathedral in Los Angeles, Bach’s Cantata Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen BWV51 & Mozart’s Ergo interest-Quaere superna K143 at historic St. John’s Episcopal church in Detroit (Charles Kennedy, organist). The rarely performed song cycle Cantares de mi Tierra by Julio Osma at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art in California. Mozart’s Exsultate, Jubilate at the Église Saint- Philbert in Noirmoutier- en-l'Île with members of the Orchestra of the National Opera of Paris. A benefit concert for the Syrian refugees at Methodist church, Bishop’s Stortford. A joint recital with organist Naoko Mitsumori at St Pancras Parish Church and recitals at St Dunstan in the West, St Mary-le-Bow and St Bride’s Church, London. The soprano solos in Mozart’s Requiem at historic St Michael’s Church, Bishop’s Stortford, the summer festival at historic St Mary’s Church in Saffron Walden, a benefit concert for soprano and organ for ‘Hope for Justice’ at Great St Mary’s Cambridge, the University Church.

Peter Davis (piano) is a freelance accompanist, conductor, composer and teacher based in Rutland. He began his musical education as a chorister at Salisbury Cathedral, and as top music scholar at Lancing College, West Sussex. He gained his ARCO at the age of 17, winning two performance prizes, and after a year as cathedral organ scholar in Salisbury, he spent three years as organ scholar at St John’s College, Cambridge. He graduated with a first-class degree in music, gaining the highest performance mark in his year on any instrument. He has toured and broadcast extensively as an accompanist and soloist on both organ and piano, including international performances throughout Europe, North America, Australia and South Africa with St John’s College Choir. He worked as a full-time teacher in independent schools for 27 years, culminating in 19 years as Director of Music at Oakham School from 2005. His chamber choirs at both Oakham and Haileybury College achieved a national reputation under his direction. He now holds the position of Director of Music at St Mary’s Church in Nottingham, as well as being Assistant Director of the Rodolfus Choir and organ teacher at Oundle School. Peter’s compositions include major works for both choirs and orchestras, as well as a number of shorter instrumental pieces that are published by Saxtet Publications and Warwick Music.
