Biographies:

Liu Zhimeng (Phoebe) is a Talent Unlimited Artist (UK) and David Young Piano Prize Holder, currently pursuing the Artist Diploma at the Royal College of Music under Professor Leon McCawley. She previously completed her Bachelor of Music and Master of Performance degrees at the RCM as a C. Bechstein Scholar and Michael Redman Scholar. Before moving to the UK, she studied at the Central Conservatory of Music Middle School in Beijing and undertook organ studies with Fanxiu Shen.

Recent performances in the UK include appearances at the RCM Britten Theatre, Amaryllis Fleming Hall, St John’s Fulham, St Cuthbert’s Earl’s Court, St Mary Abbots, St Pancras Church, Downing Place URC (Cambridge), and the University Church of St Mary the Virgin (Oxford). In China, she has performed at the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Beijing Concert Hall, and major theatres across Tianjin, Wuhan, Kunming, Ningbo and Suzhou, as well as giving embassy recitals at the Italian and Czech Embassies in China. International engagements include Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles), Manhattan Center (New York), and appearances in Perugia, Italy. She has also participated in operatic productions at the NCPA and performed with the Tianjin Symphony Orchestra.

She has received guidance in masterclasses from Dmitri Alexeev, Boris Berman, Noriko Ogawa, Vadim Oychinnikov, Matti Raekallio, Sofya Gulyak, Fabio Bidini, Vanessa Latarche, Markus Groh, Sa Chen and others.

Her awards include prizes at the Medici International Competition, IPPA Conero, Windsor International Piano Competition, Kendall Taylor Beethoven Competition and the Liszt Youth International Competition (Germany), alongside further national awards in China
