Biographies Mariia Saakian is a laureate of international competitions. She has performed with a wide variety of orchestras and participated in programmes of the International Charitable Foundation of Vladimir Spivakov.
Mariia is a graduate of the Gnessin Moscow Special Music School (College), where she studied as a performer in the class of Elena Sergeevna Plyashkevich.
Born in 2002, Mariia grew up in Moscow, Russia. She started playing the piano at the age of five with Professor Karina Ayvazova, who laid a solid foundation for her playing. Soon she began participating in a variety of concerts and festivals.
In 2016, Mariia entered the Gnesin Moscow Special Music School (College) in the class of Professor Elena Plyashkevich, where she studied for five years. After graduating in 2021, she entered the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music in the class of Professor Yury Bogdanov. In December 2021, Mariia received a full scholarship and began studying with Florian Mitrea at the Royal Academy of Music.
Mariia has extensive experience of participation in competitions and festivals in Russia, Italy, Armenia, Germany, Spain and France, where she received various prizes. Recently, she won second prize at the Liszt Society International Competition 2025 in London. Mariia is grateful for the support of the Hill Foundation and the Talent Unlimited charity.
