About:

Trio Mélange is a dynamic and versatile chamber ensemble featuring Penglei Liang (soprano), Mengyao Guo (piano), and Yuhan Ma (double bass). Combining the brilliance of the human voice with the richness of the piano and the deep warmth of the double bass, the trio explores a diverse repertoire that spans classical, jazz, musical theatre, and film music.

Since their formation, Trio Mélange has captivated audiences in various chamber music performances at venues including St. John’s Hyde Park, Holy Trinity South Kensington and St. Dunstan, etc. Their recent performances is Silk Road Chinese New Year Concert at Duke’s Hall, Royal Academy of Music, performing as part of a grand celebration supported by the Cultural Office of the Chinese Embassy in the UK, where they have brought fresh interpretations to well-loved classics and hidden gems alike.

Whether in concert halls or private events, Trio Mélange brings a refined yet fresh approach to ensemble music-making, captivating audiences with their unique sound and heartfelt interpretations.


Meet the ArtistsPenglei Liang (Soprano) is studying at the RCM supported by the Audrey Sacher Award, where she participated in the RCM Opera production and the Song Plus Program. She has performed in venues including St. John's Smith Square and the Royal Albert Hall.


Mengyao Guo (Piano) graduated with Distinction from the Artist Diploma program at the Royal College of Music and ranked first at Xi’an Conservatory of Music, where she was the sole recipient of the National Scholarship.


Yuhan Ma (Double Bass) holds an Artist Diploma from the Royal College of Music and has performed as a professional extra with the London Symphony Orchestra. She is a prizewinner in multiple international double bass solo competitions.
